Perindutrian Minister MS Hidayat : Rising fuel prices no more than Rp 6,500

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Industry Minister MS Hidayat said, the Government will raise the price of fuel (BBM) subsidized to a limited extent. However, his Ascension is expected not to be more than Rp 6,500 per liter.

' The results of yesterday's meeting of the limited, the President indicated that the trend of increase in the price of fuel will be one price, estimated there will be more than Rp 6,500 per liter, ' said Hidayat when found after a short Deliberation national development planning at Hotel Bidakara Tuesday (30/4/2013).

Hidayat added that the President would require House approval to conduct this policy. This is because the Government wants to ensure that subsidized FUEL price increase must be compensated with the aid of the direct cash transfer (BLT). On the other hand, the President also wants to ensure that the availability of the
budget for the BLT's and enough to compensate for the poor and the public cannot afford.

' Because there must be a program BLT, means must be to the HOUSE for approval of BUDGET changes. Later, if the schedule presented President it goes, so the price of fuel can be increased by the end of may 2013, ' he added.

As reported, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono insisted the subsidies must be reduced to keep the economy and welfare of the people of Indonesia. ' I must say lucidly that FUEL subsidies need to be lowered. Here's how by raising the price of fuel is finite and measurable, "said the President during a speech in the national development planning Congress in Bidakara, Jakarta, Thursday (29/4/2013).

The President said he had no intention to raise fuel prices to market prices or keekonomian that reached Rp 10,000 per liter. With this policy, continued the President, fiscal and BUDGET will be healthy, the economy became more secure in the midst of a recession, economic security is maintained, more cost for the people's welfare and build infrastructure, and the subsidies will be more just and right on target.

The President revealed, when there is no increase in the price of fuel, the total subsidies in the STATE BUDGET will be increased to Rp 446,8 trillion, with subsidies of FUEL reached Rp 297,7 trillion and the deficit will be $ 353,6 trillion, or 3.83 per cent of gross domestic product of Indonesia. Now, in 2013, the country's STATE BUDGET revenues reached Rp 1,484 .7 trillion with the State spending $ 1.683 trillion and Rp 150,3 trillion or deficit of 1.65 per cent of GDP. While the total subsidy funds reached Rp 317,2 trillion, with subsidies of FUEL reached Rp 193,8 trillion.

' If there is no improvement, these subsidies are not controlled. The total subsidy would be swollen to Rp 446,8 trillion. Imagine receiving a total of Rp 1,500 trillion for subsidies to Rp 446,8 trillion already with FUEL subsidies reached Rp 297,7 trillion, ' said the President.

However, regarding the increase in fuel prices, according to the President, was when the compensation fund for the community is ready. This should be discussed in advance with the House.
